Boeing 787 Leaky Lavs? April 14, 2023 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that would require Boeing 787 aircraft to undergo routine inspections after it was discovered that faucets in the plane's lavs are leaking. Water is reportedly leaking into the cabin floor and into bays holding some of the aircraft's electrical equipment. The concern is that water in electronics bays could cause electrical shorts or other issues that could result in a serious safety issue. A Boeing spokesman says a redesign on the lav faucets is complete and they will soon begin a program of retrofitting the 787s with the new system to eliviate the problem. |

Medical Issue With
Three Flight Attendants Forces Flight to Divert April 8, 2023 A Delta Airlines flight from Los Angelas (KLAX) to Atlana (KATL) was forced to divert to Oklahoma City (KOKC) on Thursday when three flight attendants onboard began experiencing health problems. Not long after departure from LAX, the three flight attendants reportedly started complaining of feeling dizzy, nauseous and difficulty breating. Upon landing in Oklahoma City, the affected flight crew was transported to a local hospital where their condition and the type of illness is currently unknown. Major Space Player
Files Bankruptcy April 7, 2023 While Elon Musk's SpaceX prepares for a major launch in Texas, another private space company has filed bankruptcy, according to published reports. Virgin Orbit, the brainchild of Richard Branson, has filed papers that will not desolve the company, but will likely affect its standing in the private space race. Watchers of privately-owned space exploration companies will now wait to see if this filing affects another division of the company, Virgin Galatic, that formed to offer space tourism services. Virgin Orbit made history in early January of this year when it successfully launched the first space mission in the UK from Spaceport Cornwall. That mission carried nine satellites into orbit. |

SpaceX Could Have Major
Launch Monday April 5, 2023 If things proceed in the company's favor, SpaceX could launch its most powerful rocket ever as early as Monday. The Super Heavy Rocket will carry the Starship spacecraft into Earth orbit. The rocket is 394 feet tall. That is 31 feet taller and more powerful than the Saturn V rocket used in NASA's Apollo missions. The SpaceX Super Heavy Rocket produces 17 million pounds of thrust compared to Saturn V's 7.6 million pounds of thrust when it sent astronauts to the Moon. While the FAA has published the intent to launch, the agency has not issued the official launch license as of today. The FAA has yet to make a final decision. This SpaceX launch will be an orbital flight that is part of the preparation for the next Moon missions and will launch from SpaceX's Starbase in Texas once the FAA issues the launch license. SpaceX has said Monday could be the launch date with the following two days as backup. |
